I know, I know, it's been awhile since I've posted.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I'm at my parents', in WV. You know, I was harassing my father for wanting a new keyboard, because he said this one doesn't have "quick enough key action", but I'll be darned, he's right.
I was the casserole WHORE today and yesterday. I made green bean casserole, a sweet potato casserole (I love the internet.. I found a great recipe), and a strawberry jello casseroly thing. They were all good. Mom's turkey was really well made, and her stuffing was good as always (although those damn oysters.. my father insists on oyster stuffing, but he's really the only one that likes them. Slimy little minions from deep below.)
So.. with my teeth/neck/whatever. It's now been diagnosed as TMJ. That basically means, "Your jaw hurts. We're not quite sure WHY your jaw hurts. We'll try to fix it." I had a cleaning and checkup on Tuesday, and when they took the X ray, the hygienist noticed an odd piece of metal. She called over the dentist, whom called over my old dentist (same practice, different dentist), and they all marveled at my panoramic x ray. Evidently, I have a small (but significant, about a quarter the size of my tooth) piece of metal lodged behind my upper left end molar. It's pretty deep up there. It looks like it could be possibly a broken tip of a surgical instrument, from when I had my wisdom teeth out (in 95, I think.) So.. yeah, it's all weird and vaguely frightening. I go to an oral surgeon next Tuesday for my TMJ, and I'll have him take a look at it. I'll scan in the xray tomorrow, so everyone can marvel at the FOREIGN OBJECT LODGED IN MY HEAD. Grr.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I will make a trite list of things I'm thankful for, in no specific order. The list is incomplete, I can't possibly post everything.
Princess (my parents doggie)
Jay, because he's the most wonderful boyfriend ever to walk the earth. I love him more than I can express on a blogger page.
My mommy and daddy.
My sister seeming remotely sane at the moment.
Anastasia, even if she's evil.
Pain medication. I am the queen of ibuprofen. And now they say it prevents Alzheimer's. YAY!
Sweet potatoes.
Catherine, Jay's cat in Florence. She loves my hair.
Aimee. She's not only my roommate, she's my best friend, too.
Sophie and Eleanor, Jay's cats in Lexington.
Beth. She listens to me babble, and she makes me laugh. Williamstown, NJ is too far away.
Music. The one thing I miss about Jay living 70 miles away in Florence is listening to music on the way there and back. I "listen" to music all the time at work, at home.. but only when I'm driving do I hear the music. My love for Counting Crows and Ani Difranco have been renewed in the past few days.
Pizza. I have had a lot of pizza lately. Mmm. Pizza.
Comfortable jeans.
Comfy pj pants.
Scrunchies.
Fuzzy houseshoes/socks, etc.
Having a life that's almost always pretty fun, and full of love, even if I don't stop to appreciate it nearly enough.
Doogie Howser, MD. Signing off.
(aw, c'mon. tell me you get the joke.)
