I forgot to mention this in my last post, so I will share it now.

I have a confession to make: I have become hopelessly addicted to reruns of The Nanny on Lifetime.

I go through cycles where I become obsessed with one show or another. In the past, shows such as Wings, Friends, Star Trek: TNG, Picket Fences, Northern Exposure, Seinfeld, Golden Girls, Designing Women, and all three flavors of Law & Order have held the honored position. Anytime they were on TV, I was compelled to watch them (when they're in syndication of reruns.)

This latest obsession is a surprise to me. The Nanny used to annoy the hell out of me. I flipped past it a few times, and stopped. It grew on me, much like a malignant tumor.

However, I'm not asking for help in freeing myself from the monster I call Fran Drescher. I'm happy in my whiny-voice induced bliss, and I don't plan to quite anytime soon. During Christmas break, I'll be able to catch episodes in the daytime, too.

It's good to have a focus in life.

OK, so I was playing with this which was linked from Nathan’s page, and all my results were nothing but stuff about school, school, and more school. Therefore, I will attempt to blog something more in this post. I’d prefer to use Homesite to write it in, but for some reason it will not open.

Um… last night I was supposed to go to a party, but my friend Michelle decided she wasn’t up for it. Which was really fine by me, since I was having some weird-ass social anxiety issues anyhow. Ok, to be fair, it is related to school, since the party was given by a classmate, and I know Michelle from my classes. But it’s not related to coursework. So HA!

I’ve been reading my nephew’s blog (which I won’t link to, because that would make me a bit of a hypocrite), and he really has to learn what to disclose and what NOT to disclose online. If you’re talking shit about someone, don’t use their full name unless you sincerely want an ass kicking. And it’s completely immature. It’s uncalled for. In the Real Adult World, we try to not do stuff like that. If you have a problem, talk about it with your friends. Post it to a friends-only livejournal or blog or something. Talking shit to talk shit is just… well.. stupid. And I know this kid’s smarter than that, and has the potential in him to be far more mature. He’s 21, for Pete’s sake. This kind of stuff went out of vogue in junior high. Although not nearly enough “adults” do it, by God, try to use real communication rather than just being a dipshit about it.

Tomorrow Jay and I are going to Jo-Beth to see Alton Brown speak. We bought his book on Friday, so we could get a “ticket” to the signing. hehe. I’ve never seen a celebrity from national TV so close before. I’ll probably giggle and stammer and sound like a fool.

My dear friend Craig got married on November 5. Aimee and I went to the reception on November 6, which was nice. It’s still so freaky to think that there is a Mrs. Craig Keene. Craig is MARRIED. As is Aleks, might I note. AIEE! TOO MUCH MATRIMONY! hehe.

I met my father’s girlfriend a few weeks ago (the weekend of the reception.) That was awkward, but OK. She was nice. She had a cute dog, named Zoe. I’m more for dogs than humans most of the time, so it was good to have a canine buffer there for me.

I need a new job. The funding for my RA position runs out in December, so I must find another one. There are a ton of places I’m going to send resumes to, but I thought it’d be better to do it next week (Monday, maybe?) than send it this week only to have people forget about it over Thanksgiving.

For Thanksgiving, Jay and I are going to his mom’s house, and we’re taking my friend/classmate Pei-lun, who is from Taiwan. I thought it’d be neat to show her how much Americans can eat to absolute excess. :)

Oh, happy belated birthday to Beth and Nathan. I’ve already wished them both glad tidings and stuff, but I thought I’d do it here, as well. Nathan sent me a cool mix cd for his birthday, with Camper Van Beethoven and Cracker stuff on it. It has made me really want the Leftover Salmon/Cracker collaboration album. I’m still not sure how I feel about Camper Van Beethoven. They have the potential to grow on me.

Aimee got a kitten named Gracie. She’s 6 months old and tabby, and really cute. She has big ears and a long tail. I met her on Friday, and I quite liked her.

Yes, I know there are absolutely NO segues in this entry. Forgive me.

And with that, I think I’ll go. Until I think of something more exciting.
